MAC address (Media Access Control address) is a quasi-unique identifier consists of a six byte number that attached to most network adapter card or network interface card (NIC). As such, all network cards, whether it’s of Ethernet NIC, Gigabit Ethernet NIC or wireless 802.11a/b/g/n WiFi or HiperLAN adapter, should have different MAC addresses, which also known as Ethernet Hardware Address (EHA) or adapter address.
Sometimes it is needed to know MAC address of the devices like computers, routers, switch or some others. This article describes how to use MAC address ipconfig command.

The MAC address ( the low-level network interface address) doesn’t survive hops through IP routers. You can’t find the client Mac address from a remote server. In a local subnet, the MAC addresses are mapped to IP addresses through the ARP system. Interfaces on the local net know how to map IP addresses to MAC addresses. By definition, ping is used to get a response from an IP node, either by ip address or name. However, if you know the IP address, the command ’nbtstat -A ip-address’ will return the MAC address of.Mac Address Physical LocationCmd Prompt For Mac Address
